The Jamaica Medical Foundation paid out $800,000 to the Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation and the Lupus Foundation in equal amounts at a presentation ceremony held at Insurance House, 3-3a Richmond Avenue on Thursday, February 9, 2017.

This presentation was facilitated by a JMF Fundraising Charity Event held at the Spanish Court Hotel on December 1, 2016.   A number of sponsors contributed to the success of the occasion all of whom received MC credits at the function .   Chairman of the JMF Michael Fraser described the Charity event as a very enjoyable and well organized event which was echoed by all those who attended.

Dr. Mayolynne Miller , Chairman of the Kidney Kids Foundation indicated that the $400,000 has come in at a very opportune time when available funds to take care of some children with critical kidney related diseases need attention. She commended the JMF for the way it conducts its assistance activities and wished the JMF continued success in its ongoing projects.

Dr. Stacy Davis, President of the Lupus Foundation also expressed deep appreciation to the JMF for its public service spiritedness. She mentioned that the challenges that Lupus poses in the society are not always fully understood and appreciated and that the Foundation was extremely grateful to the JMF for extending this hand of generosity to the Lupus foundation on a second occasion, the first being in 2013.

Cedric McDonald, Chairman of the JMF Fundraising Committee who chaired the Presentation Function commended all those who contributed to the success of the Fundraising event while Chairman Emeritus of the JMF Hon. Oliver Jones thanked all for helping the JMF to make an impact on the Jamaican society in the area of health care.
